DAYS 1 – 2 • Mumbai, INDIA---Taj Mahal Palace

Arrive in Mumbai and be transferred to your luxury hotel. Tour Mumbai, a vibrant metropolis and financial capital of India. See the Gateway of India, the Prince of Wales Museum, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and other examples of colonial architecture. Enjoy an excursion to the Elephanta Caves to see the rock-cut temples of the 7th century. Meals: B

DAYS 3 – 4 • Mumbai / Aurangabad---Vivanta by Taj

Fly to Aurangabad to see the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the Ajanta and Ellora caves and their many centuries-in-the-making temples cut out of solid rock. Visit the Sunheri Mahal, the History Museum and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum. Take a stroll through the Bani Begum Gardens. Meals: B

DAYS 5 – 7 • Aurangabad / Hyderabad---Taj Falaknuma Palace

Fly to Hyderabad for a tour of a ruined city and capital of the ancient Kingdom of Golkonda. The fortress citadel was rebuilt for defense from invading Mughals of the north in 1687. Visit the old city of Hyderabad including the Salar Jung Museum. Meals: B

DAYS 8 – 9 • Hyderabad / Chennai---The Leela Palace

Fly to Chennai, known as the Gateway to South India. You will proceed with an excursion to Mahabalipuram, which is a fabulous open-air museum of sculptures of living rock, Monolithic shrines scooped out caverns magnificently sculpted within the world’s biggest Bas relief in rock. Visit the Shore Temple built in 700-728 AD, it is so named because it overlooks the shore of the Bay of Bengal. Meals: B

DAYS 10 – 14 • Chennai / Kochi / Kumarakom & Depart Home---Brunton Boatyard/Kumarakom Lake Resort

Fly to Kochi, also called the Queen of the Arabian Sea and once an important trading center for spices in the 14th Century. Visit the Dutch Palace, the Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis church, and the Santa Cruz Basilica. Tour Fort Kochi, and the harbor. Get to know Kumarakom as you enjoy the beautiful lakeside resort. On day 14, transfer to the Cochin airport to board your flight on to your next destination. Meals: B
