DAYS 1 – 2 • Lima, PERU---Belmond Miraflores Park Hotel

Visit Peru where you can experience the boundless mystery and indisputable energy, from the magnificent remnants of the Inca Empire to the mystical atmosphere of the countryside. Nothing can prepare you for the spectacular sight of Machu Picchu “The Lost City of the Incas”.

Arrive in Lima and transfer to your luxury hotel. The capital of Peru, Lima, the largest city and home to one of the oldest higher learning institutions in the New World. Founded on May 12, 1551, the National University of San Marcos is the oldest continuously functioning university in the Americas. Meals: B

DAYS 3 - 4 • Sacred Valley---Tambo del Inka

Take a short flight to Cusco and transfer to the hotel. Continue on to the Sacred Valley within the district of Chinchero, and the salt terraces of Maras. The ancient Inca ways of salt “farming” and ritual working traditions are still preserved in this community. Visit Ollantaytambo and its ruins. Meals:B

DAYS 5 - 6 • Sacred Valley/Machu Picchu/Cusco---Belmond Hotel Monasaterio

Journey on the Vistadome train to Machu Picchu. The Incas left fascinating legends of forgotten cities and treasures, the most incredible of which was the “Lost City”, hidden from the world until its rediscovery in 1911. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the extraordinary Machu Picchu was built of masterfully-fitted stone blocks 8,000 feet above sea level. Have afternoon tea at the Sanctuary Lodge before heading back to Cusco enjoying drinks and dinner on board the Vistadome train. Meals: BL

DAYS 7 – 8 • Cusco & Depart Home---Belmond Hotel Monasterio

Tour the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Santo Domingo Church or Coricancha. Visit Tipon, an archaeological complex where shamans and spiritual persons congregate to pay tribute to earth and worship to water. On day 8 you’ll be transferred to the Cusco airport for your flight to Lima, where you will connect with your onward flight home. Meals: B
