DAYS 1 – 2 • Santiago, CHILE---Ritz Carlton
Tour Santiago to see Club Hípico racetrack, Parque O’Higgins, and the Palacio Cousiño. Explore the famous Alameda to see the Chilean University, the San Francisco Church, and Santa Lucia Hill. See the Plaza de Armas and the cathedral. Visit the Historical Museum and the famous Central Market, before crossing the Mapocho River, through the Bohemian Bellavista district, on the way to San Cristobal Hill. Meals: B
DAYS 3 – 5 • San Pedro de Atacama---Hotel Cumbres Atacama
Fly to Calama and experience the Atacama Desert. Tour the village of Chiu Chiu and the Inca Fortress Lasana. During a walking tour of San Tedro, visit the Father Le Paige Museum. Enjoy a sunset in the Moon Valley. Visit the huge Atacama Salt Lake, one of the driest places on earth, and the small Indian village of Toconao. See the Lagunas Miscanti & Meniques, two white salt lakes surrounded by snow-covered volcanoes. Enjoy an early morning outing to the El Tatio Geysers. Meals: B
DAYS 6 – 7 • Vina Del Mar---Hotel Casas Higueras
Return by air to Santiago then transfer to Vina del Mar. Tour the sophisticated resort known as the “Garden City” for its beautiful gardens and avenues lined with flowering trees and palms. Visit the Fonck Archaeological Museum, displaying artifacts from Easter Island, Chile, Peru and Ecuador. Tour Valparaiso, Chile’s main port, and new seat of the national congress. Meals: B
Days 8 – 10 • Colchagua Valley---Hotel Santa Cruz
Drive from Vina del Mar to the Colchagua Valley, an area known for its wineries and fine vintages. Visit several wineries to learn their process, stroll through the vineyards, and taste the wines. Return to the Santiago airport for your flight home. Meals: B
