Located on the Balkan Peninsula, Bulgaria sits on the western side of the Black Sea, surrounded by Romania, Turkey, Greece, North Macedonia, and Serbia. The capital and largest city is Sofia, located in the northwest of the country. With seven independent mineral springs in the city, it was founded 2,500 years ago, and you’ll notice the impressive number of ancient ruins throughout the center.
