The Baltic States are located in north-central Europe and on the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea. They are Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania who have gained their independence from the former U.S.S.R. in 1991.

DAYS 1 – 2 • Tallinn, ESTONIA---Schloessle Hotel

Arrive Tallinn and after clearing customs and immigration, you will be transferred to your hotel. Tallinn is Estonia’s capital on the Baltic Sea. Your visit will include the medieval Old Town of Tallinn, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Town Hall, built in the 13th century, sits in historic Tallinn’s main square; other sites to be seen are St. Nicholas’ Church, a 13th-century landmark exhibiting ecclesiastical art and St. Mary’s (Dome) Cathedral. The Kiek in de Kok Museum includes fortification towers and bastion passages, now occupied with exhibits of Tallinn’s history. Visit Kadriorg Palace, summer residence of Czar Peter I and the ruins of Pirita Convent, a monastery for both monks and nuns and enjoy the views. Meals: B

DAYS 3 – 4 • Riga, LATVIA---Grand Poet Hotel

Drive to Riga today, stopping in Estonia’s most popular resort town of Parnu for a coffee break before continuing to Gauja National Park in order to visit the Turaida Museum Reserve. Turaida means “God’s Garden”, which is a tall, red-brick castle built in 1214 on the site of a Liv stronghold. Continue on your journey to Riga, Latvia’s capital set on the Baltic Sea. This city is well known for its wooden buildings, art nouveau architecture and medieval Old Town. You will have an opportunity to visit the magnificent Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) Museum. Meals: B

DAYS 5 – 8 • Vilnius, LITHUANIA & Depart Home---Stikliai Hotel

Continue with your private car and driver to Lithuania’s capital city of Vilnius, well known for its Baroque architecture. On the journey to Vilnius, make a stop before leaving Latvia to visit Rundale Palace, rural Latvia’s most distinguished Baroque monument. In Lithuania, visit the Hill of Crosses and arrive in Vilnius to check-in to your hotel. Enjoy a walking tour in Old Town Vilnius and drive to Trakai, to visit the Trakai Island Castle whose history dates back to the 14th century. An excursion to Kaunas includes a stop en route at the Rumsiskes Open Air Museum. In Kaunas, in addition to other sites, a visit can be made to the Devil Museum, a bizarre museum that owes its existence to the eccentric Antanas Zmuidzinavicius (1876-1966) who collected over 2,000 depictions of devils from all over the world, or the M.K. Ciurlionis National Museum, featuring the largest collection of the legacy of this Lithuanian artist, composer and public figure. Meals: B
