November 7 - 9, 2020  •  Auckland -- So Hotel

Arrive Auckland airport where you will be met by your VIP greeter and transferred to your luxury hotel. The night before has been reserved for immediate check-in. Gather for a welcome cocktail and dinner
party with fellow travelers and your Lakani Tour Manager.

Learn why Auckland is referred to as the “City of Sails” as you explore the sprawling metropolis. Stop at Bastion Point for magnificent views across the harbor and city. Visit One Tree Hill and Cornwall Park where you can see remnants of a Maori fortification.

Board a ferry bound for Waiheke Island, renowned for its world class wineries. Tour the island’s isolated bays and inlets; vineyard to sample its wines and also enjoy olive oil tasting at a grower’s estate.

November 10 - 11  •  Hobbiton/Taupo -- Huka Lodge

Depart Auckland and take a scenic drive past meadows and farmland to Hobbiton, where you’ll step into the movie location of “The Lord of the Rings”. A guide leads you around the 12-acre set where you see the Hobbit Holes, the Mill, and the world-famous Green Dragon Inn. Leave the lush pastures of the Shire and continue to Taupo, and your elegant lodge on the bank of the Waikato River.

Venture on an unforgettable excursion to Lake Rotoiti, where you will be welcomed to a spiritual home of the local Maori people. After they greet you in the traditional way, you’ll be considered one of the family. Spend time in the Ancestral House, talking with locals and learning the rich history of the tribe. Witness the Maori art of flax weaving and carving, then help prepare the traditional hangi meal, cooked in a ground oven.

November 12 - 13  •  Palliser Bay -- Wharekauhau Lodge Palliser Bay

Fly south aboard a charter plane to Wellington. See the landmarks of the city, including Oriental Bay, Mount Victoria, The Beehive, Old St. Paul’s Church, and ride on Wellington’s historic Cable Car. Drive to your cottage suite accommodations on the vast estate of Wharekauhau Farm, with dramatic vistas of Palliser Bay. Take a guided tour of the fascinating sheep station in a comfortable 4-wheel drive vehicle. See sheep shearing demonstrations and witness the sheep dogs in action.

November 14 - 16  •  Queenstown -- Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa

Transfer to the airport for your charter flight to the South Island. Arrive Queenstown, on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, and transfer to your luxury hotel in the heart of the city.
Visit the Kawarau Bungy Center, the home of the world’s first commercial bungy jump. Browse charming Arrowtown, then embark on a thrill-packed trip on the Shotover River, traveling deep into the canyon on a jet boat.

Board your helicopter and take off on a fabulous excursion across the lake, passing awe-inspiring ice shelves, and then landing on one of the stunning glaciers. Continue to Milford Sound via Fjordland National Park, flying past hidden valleys, waterfalls and alpine lakes. Land on the Fjordland Jewel and settle in for a fabulous lunch cruise through the fjords. Admire the magnificent scenery and spot wildlife, such as seals, dolphins, and penguins. Return to Queenstown by helicopter and in the evening reminisce with fellow travelers at a festive farewell dinner party.

November 17  •  Queenstown

Bid farewell to New Zealand as you transfer to the airport for your onward or homeward bound flight.
