Europe Rediscovered 2017 by Private Jet – Oslo, Norway

Oslo, Norway – May 19-21, 2017 – Our 2017 Europe Rediscovered Luxury Tour by Private Jet has begun in Norway’s great capital city, Oslo. Our guests were met on arrival of their flights and transferred to the Hotel Continental, located in central Oslo. After checking into our suite accommodations, we set out for a walking tour of the wonderful sites in the city center of Oslo. We stopped by the City Hall and viewed the works of some of Norway’s most distinguished artists as well as explored the venue where the Nobel Peace Prize is presented each year. The evening only got better as we all enjoyed a cocktail party and dinner where everyone got to know each other a little bit better before we begin the rest of our journey through Europe.

Our first full day started with boarding “Grace”, our yacht for the morning. We cruised the Oslo Fjord, providing views of the city from the water as well as the countryside of the greater Oslo area. Lunch and wine were served as we enjoyed taking in the sights from the comfort of the luxurious yacht. After lunch we went ashore for a private tour of the Oslo Opera House. We had the privilege of seeing behind the scenes and learning all about the venue where we would return later to see Stepfan Herheim’s version of Puccini’s La Bohème.

Our final day in the city began with a short drive to the Akershus Fortress, a medieval castle completed in the 1300’s at the end of the Oslo headland. It was astounding to see a castle which has withstood so many sieges throughout the ages. After the fortress, we saw the highlights of Oslo such as the Royal Palace, the Parliament, the Broadcasting House and the National Theatre. We had lunch in Aker Brygge and then visited the unique Vigeland Sculpture Park & Museum and were privileged to a tour of Gustav Vigeland’s private home. We also made it to the Munch Museum, featuring much of the artist’s work including one version of “The Scream”.
