DAYS 1 – 3  •  Shanghai, CHINA---Shanghai Peninsula

On arrival in Shanghai you will be met and transferred to your hotel. While in Shanghai visit the Shanghai Museum, Old Town, Yu Yuan Garden, and the Jade Buddha Temple. Explore the renowned “Bund,” Shanghai’s waterfront quay filled with historic buildings and shops overlooking the Huangpu River. Visit Suzhou with a full day excursion by roundtrip train where you will visit the museum, silk factory, Humble Administrator’s Garden and enjoy a boat ride on the canal. Meals: B

DAYS 4 – 5  •  Shanghai / Hangzhou---Hangzhou Banyan Tree or Four Seasons

Travel via First Class train to Hangzhou. Tour the city natural beauty and important cultural and historical heritage. Take a boat ride on West Lake (Xi Hu) and explore the gardens in Guo Village. Visit the Ling Yin Temple and see the Liuhe, or Six Harmonies Pagoda. Meals: B

DAYS 6 – 7  •  Hangzhou / Guilin---Shangri-La Guilin

Fly to Guilin where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Visit Daxu ancient Town dating back to the Song, Ming and Qing dynasties. Journey down the Li River, seeing the beautiful karst peaks. Explore Yangshun. Tour Guilin including the ancient Elephant Trunk Hill and the beautiful Reed Flute Cave. Meals: B

DAYS 8 – 9  •  Guilin / Kunming---Green Lake Hotel

Fly to Kunming where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Visit the Stone Forest, a rare 270 million year old geological phenomenon and home to the Sani Tribe. Meals: B

DAYS 10 – 12  •  Kunming / Dali / Lijiang---Hilton Dali/Lijiang Banyan Tree

Fly to Dali where you will be met and tour the Three Pagodas. Take a cruise on Erhai Lake and visit old town Dali. Drive north to Lijiang stopping en route to explore the morning market in Xizhou. In Lijiang visit the Old Town and see the peaks of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Black Dragon Pond. Take a chair lift up Yak Meadow in the Jade Dragon Snow Mountains. See the Yufeng Monastery, visit Baisha Town and the Naxi minority Uhu village. Meals: B

DAYS 13 – 15  •  Lijiang / Zhongdian / Kunming---Shangri-la Zhongdian

Drive toward Tibet to Zhongdian. En route visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge. Zhongdian is “Shangri-La” at 10,800 feet altitude. Visit the Ganden Songzanglin Monastery nicknamed the Lesser Potala Palace. Visit with a Tibetan family in the old town. Fly back to Kunming for flight home or on to your next destination.Meals: B
