DAYS 1 – 2  •  Tokyo, JAPAN---Chinzanso Hotel

Ancient cultures look to the future blending invention, tradition and simplicity, which are trademarks of this graceful country. Arrive Tokyo where you will have an opportunity to tour the Imperial Palace Plaza, the residence of Japan’s Imperial Family. It is located on the former site of Edo Castle, in a large park area surrounded by moats and massive stone walls.
Visit the Tsukiji Fish Market and watch the “tuna auction”, a most popular attraction with limited daily visitors. Get your shopping on at the Ginza Shopping District and the Nakamise shopping arcade. For more cultural heritage, see the Meiji Shrine, the Asakusa Kannon Temple and the Edo Tokyo Museum. Meals: B

DAYS 3 – 4  •  Gero Spa / Takayama---Suimeikan/Hida Hotel Plaza

Travel the Chuo Express Way, and have a grand view of the volcanic peaks that make up the spine of Honshu. In Tsumago, wander a protected open-air museum for the preservation of traditional buildings. In Gere Onsen, enjoy a hot spring bath and a Japanese dinner at a luxurious ryokan. DAY 5  •  Kanazawa---Hotel Nikko Kanazawa

Travel to Shirakawa Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and visit the Open Air Museum in Gassho Village. Continue your drive to Gokayama Village, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, and experience the art of making Japanese paper. In Kanazawa, visit the Kenrokuen Japanese Garden, one of the three most beautiful Japanese gardens in the country. Meals: B

DAYS 6 – 9  •  Kyoto / Nara---Kyoto Hotel Okura

Visit the Kinkakuji Temple, the Rock Garden of Ryoanji Temple, and the Nijo Shogun Castle. Experience a Tea Ceremony in a private home. While there, learn the tradition of wearing a Kimono with Obi, and the art of Calligraphy writing. Travel to Osaka via Nara and visit the cultural sites of the Todaiji Temple with the Great wooden Buddha, Deer Park, the Kasuga Shrine, and the Horyuji Temple.  Transfer to the airport in Osaka for your departure flight.
