Viti Levu Island, Fiji – October 14 – 16
Our South Seas Adventure by Private Jet is underway. Our good group of guests gathered in Fiji. All Friends of Lakani with plenty of former travel experiences with us. How fun to see familiar faces in friendly Fiji.
Our beautiful Intercontinental Resort sits exclusively on Natandola Beach, often voted among the ‘top ten’ best beaches in the world. This is paradise. Corner suite rooms right on the beach make for luxury living.
Our Lakani “welcome party” included a spectacular vibrant performance of local fire dancers performance during cocktails. Our delicious Fiji feast dinner was accompanied by a local trio and singer, and they even had us dancing before this wonderful evening came to a close.
Our brilliant local guide, Eroni, took us away for an adventure and cultural highlight excursion in the form of our Sigatoka River Jet Boat Safari. A high speed excursion on one of Fiji’s main rivers, Sigatoka River, speeding us ‘up river’ into the more remote interior of the Fijian mountains. The trip was full of scenic beauty, speeding along the river through the highlands. Once at the village we enjoyed an authentic Fijian experience … greeted by the chief and elders who explained their ways of life and welcomed us with the traditional kava bowl ceremony. Here the ladies of the village cooked a banquet lunch for us too. A day enjoyed by all.
Following a day of “Fiji time” – a day of rest and relaxation to enjoy the resort, it’s then our time to jet away from these beautiful South Seas Islands … and head for the place of eye-catching ‘big hair’, yellow faces, strange Mudmen and other cultural intrigues … Papua New Guinea here we come …Click here to join us!
