Hamilton Island, Australia – October 22 – 24
On the edge of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, a long time renowned World Heritage Site, Hamilton Island … and most especially, our large pavilion suite “digs” at fabulous qualia luxury resort … is close to heaven on earth. A quick private jet flight brings us here.
Hamilton is a part of the idyllic picturesque Whitsunday Islands archipelago, alongside the heart of the great reef. The Great Barrier reef is our world’s largest living single structure of living organisms, stretching out over 1,400 miles, and easily visible from outer space. The waters surrounding Hamilton are azure blue tropical warm.
We enjoy an excellent wines & cheese tasting welcome sunset party … featuring finest “new world” wines and cheeses from Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand. This is followed by a Chef’s tasting menu dinner at qualia’s fine dining Pebble Beach restaurant overlooking the water and other islands.
Some take a ferry to visit the Hamilton’s picturesque golf course on a nearby island .. where on average twelve ‘ecologically friendly’ golf balls a round are lost into the sea. Others enjoy a scuba diving safari out on the great reef. We all enjoy the casual dining restaurants down by the marina as well as the excellent Long Pavilion dining room at qualia.
We all enjoy the most special day trip aboard MV Palm Beach with our yacht crew, Jason and Claire. This is a ‘jewel of the islands’ luxury motor yacht and we have a perfect day. We enjoy cruising through the scenic islands including picturesque Langford Island and a Hill inlet. Before our sumptuous lunch on board, beach walks and swims along renowned Whitehaven Beach. This is paradise living!
Needless to say, no one’s quite sure why we are ever leaving this place. The former allure of unusual Hobart has waned somewhat … but there’s still enough good interest to get to remote Tasmania and southern city Hobart. Some say Tasmanian Devils are awaiting … Click here to join us!
