Johannesburg, South Africa – August 30-31, 2017 – Welcome to the start of our African Adventure by Luxury Private Jet Tour! Our group of venturesome travelers has gathered here in Johannesburg, primed for two weeks of safari and the wonders of Africa.
As luck would have it, all our jet-setters were able to arrive early and took the opportunity to explore some of the unique culture that Johannesburg has to offer. Together with our expert tour leaders John Webley and Pat Awori, we visited the Apartheid Museum and learned about some of the struggles of 20th century South Africa and how far the country has come to create future that all South Africans can call their own. We also took a tour of Soweto, the location of the mid 70’s series of demonstrations that came to be known as the Soweto uprising, and the former home of Nelson Mandela. Towering over the city we saw the artwork covered Orlando Towers where adrenaline seekers from all over the world stop to try their hand at bungee jumping between the two buildings. Along with a visit to Walter Sisulu Square and Orlando Stadium, we had a great day of visiting a few of the must-see locations near Johannesburg.
The icing on the cake was getting to know each other over cocktails and a delicious meal at the Lakani Welcome Reception. Our wonderful group has already had a great start to what will undoubtedly be a fantastic African adventure!
